Lodging for Americans, by Americans
We are a veteran owned family business. We created Tita's Guesthouse with one idea: guest comfort first. Our multicultural family speaks English, Spanish and German, so there is always someone who speaks your language.
We have personally PCSed to and from Germany three times as a military family. We know the stress of an international move, the paperwork, the letter of non-availability, the VAT form, and the first week with jet lagged kids. On top of a well furnished place to stay, you get our knowledge of military relocation in Germany and of the local culture, which makes finding your permanent home a lot easier. We have been in your shoes, and now we are here to help you settle into the Kaiserslautern Military Community or Baumholder.
Our team

Tamara (Tita) Hernandez, owner
Tita was born in Chiclayo and raised in Lima, Peru, before moving to Germany at 17 with her mom and siblings. By chance she met an Airman, and the military life began. After more PCS moves than she can count, Tita knows exactly how overwhelming (and exciting) starting over can be. That is why she loves hosting families and fellow military members: she has lived it, boxed it and unpacked it herself.
She has called three countries home and speaks Spanish, German and English. Today she is the friendly face behind most guest interactions, handling reservations and making sure every stay is smooth and feels like home from day one.

Ruben Hernandez, owner
Ruben was born in Cuba and moved to Miami at 15. In 2004 he joined the Air Force, which took him across the world and brought him to Germany in 2008 and again in 2019, when he teamed up with his wife and a close friend to start a small business. After living in four countries, Ruben speaks Spanish and English fluently and is still perfecting his German.
These days he proudly calls himself retired, enjoys a slower pace with his daughters and his chickens, keeps the billing and accounting running, and helps bring to life whatever new project our in-house designer (Tita) dreams up next.
